Prepping Your Home to Sell for More

Prepping Your Home to Sell for More

Today I’m sharing a few tips on how to stage your home to sell.

If you’re planning to sell your home and need to get it into peak condition before you list, I recommend hiring a professional stager. There are many staging companies out there that can come in and either redecorate your current home or rent furniture to you. If your home is vacant when you stage, it can get a little pricey, ranging from $3,000 to $5,000. If you still live in the home, however, there are some simple things you can do to achieve maximum results:

“We’ll walk through each room with you and help you figure out exactly what’s needed to ensure your home looks its very best.”

  1. Declutter and depersonalize. You don’t have to remove every single photo from your house, but minimizing the number of personal effects you have on the walls is key to depersonalization. Decluttering is also important; homes with lots of stuff still in them tend to appear smaller in listing photos. Pack away all the extra stuff you don’t need and do your best to make your home look like a magazine photo.
  1. Keep it simple and tidy. As an extension of the previous point, clean up the whole house and keep it organized. You don’t need 45 pillows on your bed for listing photos and walk-throughs.

If you’re thinking of selling your home, we can help you with the staging process. We’ll walk through each room with you and help you figure out exactly what’s needed to ensure your home looks its very best. Feel free to reach out to us with any questions you have. We’d love to hear from you.
